And then there are the Wine Spirits...

... the mascots of the Grubers. Are they micro-organisms for natural pest control? Do they break down minerals and stimulate taste buds? Are they the yeast which induces fermentation and makes the wine so unmistakeably unique? Are they the little children of Bacchus and the fauns ensuring joy and pleasure?

Weingut Gruber Röschitz - Weinviertel DAC, Austria

The Gruber family has been making wine in Röschitz since 1814, almost solely for private consumption until the 1950s. At the age of 16, Ewald Gruber senior decided to turn the farm into a model winery, to become one of the leading vinegrowers, using the latest technology available. Three of his six children took over the winery in 2012 to keep the long family tradition going. The soil around Röschitz, mostly loess and granite bedrock, has made the Weinviertel area famous for its spicy-fruity Grüner Veltliner.
