Chateau de Saint Martin - Côtes de Provence Cru Classé

Chateau de Saint Martin is a rare Cru Classés from Provence, with a rich history. The Romans were first to make wine on the estate, during the 2nd century B.C. Then the monks of Lerins made it a priory (X to XVII Century) and build the underground cellar still used today.  This 100-hectare property has been in the same family since 1740, and passed on from mother to daughter since 1817. Comtesse Adeline de Barry is the 8th generation of women managing the chateau. At an altitude of 130 meters above sea level, The vineyard spreads across a complex terroir of red schistz and silt to the south, Limestone and deep clay to the north. High quality grapes, the influence of the nearby sea, and generations of experience in winemakinggives Cuvée Grande Reserve its unique character.
